Bulk Disassembly Grid — Overview

The bulk disassembly grid lets you create many disassembly orders in one session without opening individual order forms. Each row represents one finished product to disassemble; you can expand any row to see and edit its recovered components before you save.

Getting to the grid

You can arrive here two ways:

From the Stocks Grid (fastest)

  1. Go to Inventory → Stocks Grid.
  2. Check the boxes next to the finished-goods SKUs you want to disassemble.
  3. Click Actions → Create Bulk Disassembly Order.
    • Luminous reads the recoverable quantity from each selected row and pre-fills it as the suggested quantity.
    • You land on the bulk disassembly grid with one pre-populated row per SKU.

Directly from Assembly Orders

  1. Go to Inventory → Assembly Orders.
  2. Click Create → Create Multiple Disassembly Orders.
  3. The grid opens with a single blank row; add more rows with + Add Row.

Filling in each row

Each row in the grid is inline-editable — click any cell to edit it in place.

ColumnWhat to do
SKU / ProductSelect the component SKU you want to recover (the raw material that will come back into stock).
Assembled ProductsAfter you pick a SKU, Luminous looks up every finished product whose BOM contains that component and populates this dropdown. If only one match exists it is selected automatically.
Qty RequiredThe number of component units you want to recover.
ConversionRead-only chip showing the BOM ratio (e.g. "1 → 5" means 1 finished unit yields 5 component units).
Assembled Qty Req.Calculated automatically — the number of finished-product units that must be disassembled to yield your requested component quantity.
UnitUnit of measure for the component quantity.
Warehouse Group / Warehouse / LocationWhere the finished product stock will be pulled from. Changing the warehouse group cascades to warehouse and then location automatically.
LotAppears only when the finished product is lot-tracked; auto-populated from available lots at the selected location.

Expanding a row to edit components

Once you select an assembled product, a ▶ expand chevron appears on the left of the row. Click it to open the component detail panel for that disassembly order.

The detail panel lists every component defined in the BOM with:

ColumnEditable?Notes
SKUNoThe component's internal SKU.
ProductNoThe component's product name.
BOM QtyNoThe quantity per finished unit defined in the BOM.
Actual QtyYesOverride the quantity you actually expect to recover for this component.
LocationYesDirect this specific component to a different bin than the parent row's default.
LotYes (if lot-tracked)Assign the recovered component to a specific lot.

Tip: If all components will land in the same bin, you only need to set the location at the parent-row level. Expand the row only when components need to go to different locations or lots.

Auto-complete on save

At the top of the grid there is an Auto-complete orders checkbox.

  • Unchecked (default): Orders are created in Draft status. You complete them individually later from the Assembly Orders list.
  • Checked: Luminous creates each disassembly order and immediately marks it as completed in one step — useful when the physical work is already done and you are just recording the transaction.

Saving

  1. Review all rows (and expand any rows where you need to adjust component quantities or locations).
  2. Optionally check Auto-complete orders.
  3. Click Save All.

Luminous creates all orders at once and redirects you to the Assembly Orders list.

Troubleshooting

SymptomLikely cause
"No assembled products" shown in red for a rowThe selected SKU is not listed as a component in any active BOM. Check that a BOM exists for the parent product and that this SKU appears as a BOM line item.
Lot column shows N/AThe assembled product is not configured for lot tracking. No action needed.
Expand chevron does not appearThe assembled product has not been selected yet, so no BOM items have been loaded. Select an assembled product first.
